Weddings at Pangdean
Pangdean is a perfect all in one wedding location. We are licensed to hold wedding ceremonies in the Old Barn, the Stable and outdoors in the garden gazebo, and can accommodate between 50 and 190 people for the ceremony and reception.
Pangdean Farm is close to 300 years old and provides an atmospheric and historic setting, creating a wedding venue that is unique, elegant and relaxed.
Ceremonies in the Old Barn
The Old Barn makes a wonderful space for a romantic Sussex wedding. Your guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the beautiful barn while you exchange vows under the high oak-beamed roof filled with twinkling fairy lights. The barn can be set up in a number of ways and can accommodate a maximum of 196 guests seated in rows with a central aisle.
Ceremonies in the Stable
The Stable provides the perfect space for a smaller wedding, seating in rows a maximum of 70 people. The Stable adjoins the Old Barn and central courtyard. Your guests will be able to move easily from the ceremony to reception space, with drinks and canapés being served in the courtyard or covered courtyard.
It may just be worth pointing out that an actual wedding ceremony (which includes the Bride and Groom, two Registrars and two witnesses) must, by law, be held under the cover of a solid structure, it is the congregation, your guests, that can be truly ‘outdoors’. To accommodate couples who would like to hold their ceremony in the open air we have built a stunning oak shingled gazebo in the orchard corner of the beautiful garden at Pangdean. Since the gazebo nestles discreetly into our 500 year old Mulberry Tree, it has been named Mulberry Lodge. The views from the Lodge are stunning, Pangdean’s garden set against a backdrop of the South Downs. It is, however, obviously weather dependant and the option of retreating to the Barn or the Stable is always offered in the event of bad weather.
Legal aspects of your wedding
We recommend contacting the local Registrar as soon as possible to enquire about available dates and legal process of arranging your marriage ceremony. You can find out more on the West Sussex County Council Website or use this tool to find your nearest registration office.
